Union County Circuit Clerk Office

The Union County Circuit Clerk's office is at 101 North Washington, Suite 201, El Dorado, AR 71730-5661. Phone: (870) 864-1940. Hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The office maintains records for all circuit court divisions: civil, criminal, domestic relations, probate, and juvenile matters.

Union County has six circuit court divisions with judges covering cases in both El Dorado and Camden. Circuit judges include David C. Graham (1st Division), Mary Thomason (2nd Division), Edwin A. Keaton (3rd Division), John T. Shepherd (4th Division), David W. Talley, Jr. (5th Division), and Spencer Singleton (6th Division). Each division handles specific types of cases, and the clerk's office can tell you which division has your case on file.

Filing fees in Union County include $165.00 for new circuit court cases, $50.00 to reopen a case, and $2.50 for summons or subpoenas. Recording fees start at $15.00 for the first page and $5.00 per additional page. Multiple instruments recorded together cost an additional $15.00 per instrument with a maximum of $300. Standard copy fees are $0.50 per page. Certified copies run $5.00 each, and authenticated copies cost $15.00.

Cases filed before January 1, 2009 may have limited online data. Sealed files, expunged records, and juvenile matters are not available through this portal. Per Administrative Order 19, sensitive personal details are redacted from the public view. For excluded records, contact the Circuit Clerk at (870) 864-1940.

Union County District Court

The Union County District Court is located at 250 American Road, El Dorado, AR 71730. Phone: (870) 864-1950. Fax: (870) 864-1955. This court handles misdemeanor criminal cases, traffic violations, small claims matters, landlord-tenant disputes, and preliminary hearings for felony charges.

District court records are separate from circuit court records. If you need a traffic citation, misdemeanor disposition, or small claims judgment, the district court is the right place to start. Some Union County district court cases appear in the state's online case search, but coverage varies. When in doubt, call the district court directly.

Note: Union County District Court handles civil matters up to $25,000, so landlord-tenant disputes and smaller civil claims are filed there rather than at the circuit court.

Land Records and E-Recording

Land records in Union County can be accessed online through the Tapestry platform for pay-per-search access. E-recording is available through three vendors: CSC, Simplifile, and ePN. This lets title companies, lenders, and attorneys submit documents electronically for recording without visiting the courthouse. Documents are reviewed and returned electronically once processed.

Union County also has an e-filing "Lite" program available for non-monetary filings as of March 21, 2021. This limited program allows electronic submission of certain document types. For full e-filing of all case types, the statewide eFLEX system is used by licensed attorneys under the mandatory e-filing requirement.
